Jon & Kate Plus 8 Bite The Big Apple, New Poll Ideas, The Sextuplets are not babied!

Sorry for the lack of posting this weekend. Decorating the tree, shopping, working and sick kids took up the weekend. After my kids saw Jon & Kate's Christmas tree spin last year, I tried to make a mental note on finding out h9w they got it to do that! We found this great rotating tree stand, and its great that the kids can decorate all sides of the tree and not fight! I was super excited for tonight's episode. I always love to see how families get excited coming to a place that I see everyday! Its funny that I actually got to see my dads building (hey dad) and see Central Park in a positive and clean light. (I complain that its been too littered to date.)

Daddy those aren't yellow cars, they're taxis! -Hannah

Lets start off with the first thing the jealous trolls will complain about. The Wii game. Whether or not it was given to them to promote or they had it before, you know its always the first topic of snide jealous conversation. Kids get games and the kids will have fun with whatever is given to them. I say more power to em. Get over the fact that the kids get to play with nice toys. For the rest of the show I actually spent yelling at kids to go to bed, so I hope to fully re-watch it on Wed. But I wanted to touch on the carriage ride. To those that have mentioned how inhumane it is for the horses, they are the most loved and taken care of out there. The owners of those horses have had them for years, and they are very used to being in NYC. I cant stress enough how wonderful and tame and loving they are. Its a shame that they do have to deal with city smog but so do I. It was cute to see the family get to do something I only did the night my husband proposed.

Lets start off with the fact that this was not another "freebie" trip to them. This is a drive to Manhattan which is not that far to promote their book. Now for those that complained that the kids were out on all these school days it was obvious now that they weren't. Its funny when you finally get to see the aired piece all the days of hateful blogging by some was for nothing because they did all their interviews in one day that was the kids day off from school. Now I really applauded the fact that Kate did her interview solo while the kids were eating lunch. I thought she looked great, regardless of the way others criticize her. I also thought it was a good idea that they were driven in and that Jon didn't attempt to do it himself. I thought the "behind the scenes" of what goes on at these interviews was pretty cool to watch. I for one enjoy seeing the kids get older and don't feel at all that they have lost their appeal. The negative comments that they are no longer cute it just hurtful. They looked like they were so happy to be there and play in the park. But I'm excited to put the kids to bed and watch it more thoroughly.

New Poll Ideas?

This week for the first time I'm at a bit of a loss for poll ideas. Please send me suggestions to jonkatefanpage@gmail.com. I would appreciate it!

Is Kate Not Allowing The Tups To Grow Up?

As I have a baby on my hip and I'm yelling at my other child to go to bed, I wanted to touch quickly on GWOP's boredom and how they had nothing better to discuss 6than the development of the tups. How they feel that they are developmentally delayed (they aren't) how Kate is not allowing them to grow up by using bibs (good for saving clothes) and sippy cups (my daughter used them as well). I find them to be pretty articulate and appropriate for their age. It is up to every parent to determine what is best for their kids and nothing pisses me off more then people thinking they know better. And for the record, the seats they climb into are both for safety and so they can reach the table. Not to suppress their growth!

Can you post the link to etsy again for Kate's necklace designed by her sister?

Go to my November 9th blog. (you can access all my previous blogs on the bottom right of this blog)On there will be the link to the Etsy site of Kate's sister. There you will be able to purchase all her stuff. The necklace I loved of hers you can see Kate wear when she got her vow renewal dress and is in the montage of photos I did for the wedding.

Enjoyed the episode.

I loved Hannahs comment about the Taxis! Kids will grow up whether you "let" them or not.

I really liked this episode. I just love the behind the scenes shows. Even though I saw all of their interviews (Fox, Good Morning America and 700 Club) I am glad that they showed the comings and goings instead of making the episode a recap of what happened during the actual interviews.

I was disappointed that Beth was not even mentioned...what is the deal with that??

I too thought that Kate looked great. She seems to be more relaxed lately despite her busy schedule.

Regarding the sippy cups, bibs etc. I understand why the tups still wear bibs on occasion and why they still drink from sippy cups. I don't have a problem with the tups using both. However, I was a little shocked that it appeared that the twins were also using sippy cups before the Fox interview...did I see that correctly?

Also, I just have to touch on something that I read at another blog. The poster seemed a little put off by the fact that we don't know or see even a fraction of what really goes on in the Gosselins lives. She made reference to how it was mentioned that they have spent a lot of time in NYC, that they had been to CA more then the trips we saw in episodes etc. To me this is a good thing!! I am sure there is a lot that we don't see and rightfully so.

Bee the cups that the twins had are like coffee cups but the lid twists so it doesn't spill they are really great cups. So they are not sippys at all the are coffee cups for kids (LOL!!!)

Bee,

I thought the same thing when I posted that. Why should we know every detail of their life or every place they visit. The show is not a 24 hour 7 day a week reality show. If it was, can you imagine the complaints.

I feel there is much we don't know about the Gosselins, and that is the way it should be.

Totally agree with you Nina Bell.

I popped over to "there" just to see what they could possibly pick apart now...I know I promised I wouldn't....and found the most inane, stupidest comments. It ranged from the sippy cups (which anybody could plainly see are not) to Kate making Collin run into a column when they were walking (what???)to just lambasting about Kate's hair. (which I like). The funniest ones to me are when they think they know what goes on, when in reality they don' and they post it and lists things that are incongruencies (which are really edits) It's an edited show "people over there"...get with it! Assumptions from edits are not facts. Boy are they dumb.

Oh, did anybody else notice that lady in the right background when Kate was at CBN for her interview. Didn't she look A LOT like Beth?

Theresa, I have to watch again, but I think I know the person you are referring to in the background. There was a resemblance.

Same as you, I glanced at the other site as well today. The comment ARE stupid and do demonstrate a fundamental lack of understanding of how an edited reality show works, but they are also MEAN. The comments made against Hannah really make my blood boil. Completely out of line.

Anyway, I'd give the episode at least a "B". I loved the Central Park carriage ride and it was fun to see them at the playground. I love New York!! Kate was more relaxed too and I am glad for her sake and the family's that she seems to be holding up under the stress of a very busy schedule pretty well.

I LOVE J&K+8. I don't have cable anymore so I watch their episodes online, on the TLC page. During this week's episode I thought the same as you...'haters are going to complain about the Wii game.' So I just wanted to share some info...the Nintendo Wii - Music Game is the offical sponsor for thier interenet streaming of the show - so I'm sure Nintendo specified that they would sponsor in exchange for on air advertising during the episode. I'm all for it since coorporate sponsorship is how I get to see the new episodes.
BTW thanks for the site. I love it.

Kassie,
Thanks for clarifying the twins using the "coffee" cup style cups. Do you know where to get the cups?

Kassie said...

Bee,
I got mine at Target but they don't have them there all the time.

Thanks Kassie!

In the visit to St Jude, what on earth would make them think little kids would want her book as their gift from the wagon?

The Travel Mom said...

The kids were given over 60 presents obviously, but they were not allowed to get them until Christmas...The book was more for the parents, who may have not known who they were. It was also a great idea because it was something for the families to read to pass the time while they were there.

The kids got the sticker books and the CD's.
