Was It all You Wanted To Know???? Eight Little Faces Pre-Order

Hello Gosselin fans! I gotta admit, I was a bit mad that my video submission was not the one chosen to be on the show. I made sure I picked a happy general question regarding nap times and it was replaced by generic questions that the haters over at GWOP were going to rip to shreds. Ohh and for the record their excuses are always "I gave in and watched" yeah right, always having to make excuses for watching and being a closet fan do we? So was this episode any better than the first "all we needed to know?" Well kinda, yeah.

Though the highlight for me and everyone else was the interviews with the crew. We all thought that they were super cute and sweet. But were you surprised that the editor was woman? I thought that after making Kate appear to be a shrew sometimes its gotta be a man doing that! (lol) Also to the trolls, I would like to know what is so wrong about the kids getting jobs and learning how to be responsible with their money, & let them go out and earn for themselves? We all know that this family is trust fund city, but why shouldn't they share a car or two?? And people, lets just clarify what the crew was talking about when they sometimes "let themselves in". They try to see if the garage door is open and they set up for the morning there. They do NOT try to sneak into the families house while they sleep. GEEZE to you read how some people try to twist things?? It was also nice when Kate re-mentioned buying sale items and coupons- Its truly how the people I know ~stay~ rich. Kate really did grow up in a frugal family it DOES stand to reason that old habits of saving dies hard.

Also as people in general we have a tendency to want to know everything about people we see on TV shows. An example: how many blogs go on and on about how Kate would never let them play sports or socialize with other kids, yet they clearly said that the kids do on both accounts? Jon and his 10 year long interview a few days ago pretty much satisfied everything else most of us were dying to know. But for the millions out there that DON'T get on the computer, do you think that this episode answered of the questions they may have been wondering? No mentions of dogs, big new houses, (though apparently shown while I was dozing), Jodi & Beth, John Mom & brother etc. Do you feel that this is something that we should just wait for in the upcoming episodes? Cause I have a feeling most of it is going to come this year. Now the thing about it is that there is a massive call to give this family & primarily the kids their privacy, so how much do you think they have to share with us to keep us watching for the new year?? I smell a new poll coming! (lol)

Eight Little Faces..Will it be another Hit?

"Becoming the parents of eight children in less than four years has definitely presented both trials and blessings to Jon and Kate Gosselin. In this very personal close-up of their family life, Kate comments on the life lessons God has taught her. Featuring themes like trust, perseverance, joy, and encouragement, each two-page spread includes a photograph from the Gosselin family album, words from Kate, and topical Scripture verses. This book makes the perfect gift for any fan of the Gosselin’s television show Jon & Kate Plus 8, which is featured on TLC, as well as any mother struggling with the demands of small children." Pre-order HERE.

And finally, in a little new segment I like to call "It was posted, then its gone" I was sent this comment that was posted on GWOP. You know these all get deleted after 5 minutes, but its important to know that people DO try to scold the mean bullies over on that site. Just like I reprimand the trolls that come here! Lets take a look:

If you people were really concerned about the future of these children you would not post these ugly comments about their parents. How hurtful do you think these will be to the children when they or their friends discover these hateful comments when they get a little older. Look inside yourselves to figure out why you are really posting these messages

There was one question that I really do want to know! Do they ever swear? If they can raise 8 kids and go one day without saying "O my hell". Then they are awsome people . I have 3 great kids but I do let it fly every so often.

I personally really liked this episode. I thought it was great. There was some footage I hadn't seen before and I was excited to see the commericial of the new house. A tease for next weeks episode.

We are a week away from the episode that I personally can't wait for.
I feel like last nights episode will be ripped to shreds by EVERY Gosselin critic. I agree with Baby Mama that they were questions that are raised over on the "dark side" repeatedly. I understood the answers, however I expect others not to. My Favorite was when privacy was discussed. I thought that Kate hit it out of the ballpark with her explanation.

I have tried to leave my opinion with the GWOP clan but for some reason my posts never go up or stay up rather.
My point would be if you dont like the people "DONT WATCH THE SHOW" their are starving children in Africa that could use some attention if their lives are focused on saving the world, or rather the children of the world. Ugh....My husband and I have 5 children and if we were presented with the same sort of opportunity we would no doubt pray about it and look to God for answers, as I believe Kate did. They have to pay for 8 children to go to college and I believe the God is certainly providing them with a way that will help them achieve that goal.
Sometimes I wish that Kate could just give them all HELL for judging her, they are an amazing family and I am so glad that they have the blessings of the Lord to get them through each day. More power to ya Jon & Kate I think you are raising your children beautifully.

Never posted before, but have been reading for a couple of weeks.

I have been watching this show since it was a special, not a series. I LOVE it. When I read the hate sites I can't understand how they come up with some of that stuff. Are we all watching the same show?? Kate hating her boys, esp Joel? Really? That is so not how I see it.

My fav comment so far was from Nameyy: they should be handing me that money since I don't own ANY house.

That sums it up. They don't care about exploitation. It's pure unadulterated jealousy.

Sorry, forgot to check that little box for email updates. opps!

I didnt get a chance to watch last night. I CANT BELIEVE I MISSED IT!! But I will be watching tonight, because of course I DVR'd it..lol
I am so excited about the upcoming house episodes.

I haven't watched the episode (and am hoping the DVR caught it so I can watch it soon), but I just want to point out how on a day like today, in which the whole world is celebrating due to the triumph of idealism, people living in tiny worlds with petty feelings of spite and jealousy just seem that much more microscopic. It makes me want to just ignore them, much in the way I would ignore an ant on the sidewalk if I was going for a walk.

My favorite moment was of Joel saying he didn't want to be filmed. Precious!

For the most part I did like this episode. I think Jon and Kate gave some great answers to some tough questions. Questions like are the kids being negatively affected by being on tv, regarding privacy, Jon and Kate actually having a job etc.

I really liked the answers from the crew. Those guys seem very cool!

First of all I wanted to say I love your blog! I am in love with their show and I hate all the crazy comments about Kate because I truly do look up to her! (Even though I'm only in college and not thinking about getting married or having children for a long time!) I had a question for them, but I respect that it might be too personal for them to answer. It was: Do they have time for themselves? I.E. Kate is the type of person I would love to be friends with. I assume a lot feel this way! So, I wonder how Kate manages her own personal friendships and how she deals with that and her family.

I have a question. Does anyone actually admire Kate? Is this someone you look up to? Admire? Do you think she is someone you would want your daughters to emulate? As a person who watches the show, I was confused by what I was seeing and after some searching came across a few blogs regarding the show. It appears that people are condoning and praising some of her actions, just to rebut opinions on other sites. Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but just because you watch the show, and enjoy seeing the kids, doesn't mean you have to make excuses for Kate's behaviour. Would you act the way she does? What about if a friend or family member did?

The Travel Mom said...

Canadian Made~ With the excessive trolling here lately you are sticking out like a sore thumb. I hope your a real Jon & Kate fan or your posts will disappear quicker than you can say "Ohh Lordy Be!"

I admire Kate alot. I mean, the poor woman has to deal with horrible hates sites slamming her decision to put her family on TV that has set her up financially for life.I wouldn't answer personal questions either. I not only admire the person she is, but I admire her husband for being the man he is considering what he has to deal with now that he is on a TV show that people love to slam.

I admire how she shows emotion when she has to, tells it like it is, defends her decisions regarding her children, and keeps raking in the dough for her family while horrible people essentially call her a monster.

Ohh and for the record, I might cringe when she does something, but only because I know the wrath she will receive later on horrible hate blogs. I admire her audacity and I look up to her very much. I also admire the balls you have for posting that here. Serena is just deleting stuff with no explanations. I am giving you one. This is my blog baby, I wouldn't do 6 months of hard work because I didn't admire her!

Thank you BabyMama for saying it how it is!

I am not a troll, so I don't know why I would stick out like a sore thumb. I hope I am a thoughtful, intelligent person, that wants to see both sides of an issue.

However, admiring Kate & Jon for dealing with horrible sites that slam them, seems like putting the cart before the horse. If they didn't put themselves and their family on television, there would be no sites slamming them.

As far as Kate defending her decisions regarding her children.....just because she says so, doesn't make it right.

Please understand that I'm not here to upset the status quo on your site. I'm really just trying to understand what people are seeing, that I may not. Let's discuss it......that's the Canadian way!!

What is "right" for Kate's family is should only be determined by Kate and Jon.

And, what you think is "right" Canadian Made are just your opinions based on what you see on an edited tv show.

This doesn't make sense to me. You could say this about any public person.

Take President Obama, for instance. A year from now if people show admiration for how he handles criticism on decisions he has made in his first year in office (and with all politics there will be plenty of it), your response would be the same. I doubt it.

arabella said...

For me, personally, I realize that we do not see everything in their day to day lives. We see 22 minutes of it. Not much. And yes Kate can be a bit much at times in how she treats Jon. But, honestly, I can understand it. I've snapped at my husband. He's even snapped at me. I don't agree with how she treats him, but I don't agree with how I treat mine, either, when I'm stressed.

I don't make excuses for Kate's behavior. I just understand why she reacts the way she does.

A WARNING TO EVERYONE
Do not read gwop! It is dangerous! I thought I would go over there and read some of the comments, for some entertainment, and I found their ridiculous views rubbing off on me. My mind started to be warped and I was almost believing some of their lies. It was scary! I caught myself though thank goodness.

Meg said...

Also, does anyone know if this episode is online anywhere? My dvr was full without me knowing it and so it didnt record and I missed it.

BEE said...

There are a lot of things that I admire about Kate. She has an incredible way of handling everyday stresses, of organizing a family of 10, of instilling Christain values in her children, her strenghth and determination to make the best possible life for her children, her "realness" and the fact that she does not try and hide her faults or weaknesses etc. I could keep going but those are just a few that came to mind right off the bat.

With all that being said, yes, there are plenty of moments that I have seen on the show where I do not agree with Kate's decisions or her behaviour. However, I realize that this a TV show and there is a lot of editing being done, that we only see a snippet of what their daily lives are like and that Kate, like myself, is only human.

At the end of the day, I think that Kate is trying to be the best Believer, best wife and best mom that she can. Yes, she falls short on a daily basis but so do I.

Amber said...

I do admire Jon & Kate, both of them, they made a choice to keep all 6 kids knowing how hard it would be, but they didn't care, they wanted ALL of there babies. And i really believe everything they do it for the kids.

A Real Housewife said...

Canadoan Made,

I really admire Kate and Jon. Some of the things that Kate does, makes me gasp. But, then I remember two weeks ago I done the same thing. I snap at my Hubby, I snap at my kids and they are adults now(by age only, HEHE). The only difference between them and us, is they are on TV. So, we see it all. It would not matter if Kate found a cure for a disease, she would still be hated. I believe it is because she is so strong minded about taking care of her family, that people take offense to that. But, if it were a MAN, they would praise his harsh attitude for whatever he did to care for the family. There is a video on this blog, from interview Jon did in Utah. You should listen to it. Jon tells you that he now is the stay at home parent, because Kate has so many obligations. The Gwoppers, now are complaining about Kate being absent from her children. Once again if it was a man gone on a business trip, the standards would be different. Jon holds no bones about telling people he has no direction and was going no where until he met Kate. Kate is the leader and he likes it that way.

Kate is darned if she does and darned if she doesn't. I admire the way she sweeps the trolls under the carpet and holds her head high. She will do and has done everything for those beautiful babies.

One more thing, those children are Jon and Kate's. No one has any right to tell them how to raise their kids. Those children always look wonderful. The only thing that will harm those babies are the lies and crap they will someday read about their own parents. Hopefully they never will!!!!

I finally watched the episode and I thought it was great. I like recaps.

Did anyone notice how lovable they seemed to be? Laughing with each other, and looking at each other all sweet. I thought it was great. Kate is looking so pretty lately. She looks like she has been going to a tanning bed. My only complaint is the HAIR. She had the back cut really short and the front really long.

Hi guys! I have been lurking a while now and decided now to comment!! I love The Gosselins! I hate the haters. I wish Kate would come to Missouri, I would love to see her.
I posted over at GWOP's and of course my posts get deleted since I'm a fan.
I work 11am.-11pm on Mondays and don't get to watch the show anymore. I tried watching them on-line at TLC but they only have episodes from last season. Does anyone know how I can watch full new episodes??

I just found this blog and I really wanted to thank Baby Mama for this site. I have been a fan of the Gosselins since they had the 1 hours specials, and I was shocked and appalled at the websites (GWOP and others) I found when I googled them just to see what was out there about my favorite family.

In regards to the "All You Wanted To Know" episode, I always enjoy hearing their responses to emails, and in this case the video mail, especially all the crew comments and the extra footage of the kids that have never been aired before. But I have to say I felt a little sad to see them only answer a few of the hot button issues. I appreciated their response to the question if the kids are suffering from being on TV, but I wished they would've delved more into the negative things people say. Mostly to just shoot down the things the horrible people at GWOP preach. But I can understand why they would just want to ignore the horrible trolls at GWOP and just focus on the positive. I hope they address some of these things later so people who are new viewers of their show don't get swayed by the falsities at GWOP.

But I still loved the show and I love them. I can't wait to see what is in store for this awesome family. Thanks again for this blog. It is so refreshing to see other people who love this family as much as I do.

" admiring Kate & Jon for dealing with horrible sites that slam them, seems like putting the cart before the horse."

Canadian-Made, you're using the wrong metaphor. We're not worried about things in the wrong order (which is what the metaphor implies). The admiration is not FOR them dealing with the slam sites, it's for HOW they deal with the slam sites - with a lot of dignity and not wanting to get down in the mud with the paramecia.

"As far as Kate defending her decisions regarding her children.....just because she says so, doesn't make it right."

Again, an erroneous logical argument. You either defend your actions or you don't; whether they're right or wrong is a matter of opinion (i.e., it's subjective and there is no final say on who's right or wrong unless an arbiter, e.g., a judge or mediator, is chosen) and has nothing to do with those actions being defended.

"I'm really just trying to understand what people are seeing, that I may not. Let's discuss it......that's the Canadian way!!"

What we're "seeing" is a show we enjoy. We don't need to defend it to others (again, our decision to watch may be wrong in your opinion, but we can still defend our right to do so). One problem is that people assume "you enjoy the show, ergo, you condone and absolve every and all behavior you see in it." FALSE. Why force us to state what we agree or don't agree with? We do not need to respond to the giant chip on people's shoulders - "I DARE you to defend Kate Gosselin. I DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU!"

Why should I?

By the way, you can say you're not a troll, but if you behave like one - i.e., "ok, here are all the things Kate does wrong and if you people don't agree then you're bad parents, stupid, or worse," then you smell like a troll and Baby Mama will delete your comments faster than you can say "aldergator."

Canadian Made said...

Holy cow! I just asked some questions and it seems like I touched off a firestorm. Two things: This was my first post ever on any site.......what exactly is a troll, I think I have the wrong idea? Also Carol said....."you enjoy the show, ergo, you condone and absolve every and all behavior you see in it." FALSE. Of all the nonsense written in reply to my questions, this is the sentance that made me understand where she was coming from. I believe in my original comments, I too, said I watched the show and was confused by the behaviour I was watching. Carol seems to have noticed some of the same behaviour as me, but made me understand that she doesn't condone it, but can still enjoy watching the show.

So Carol, thanks and if Babymomma wishes to delete this....I'll understand that no opinion other than hers is allowed.

Canadian Made,

What do you mean nonsense answers? You asked what we see that you do not and I think we answered in our own way.

As far as your last comment, are you trying to be mean or what? Everybody is entitled to their opinion and a good discussion is welcome.

Canadian Made said...

Shelley.....was I trying to be mean? No. I was responding to Carol's reply. "By the way, you can say you're not a troll, but if you behave like one - i.e., "ok, here are all the things Kate does wrong and if you people don't agree then you're bad parents, stupid, or worse," then you smell like a troll and Baby Mama will delete your comments faster than you can say "aldergator."

I took that to mean that Babymomma would delete my post if I looked or smelt like a "troll". No?

I love JK+8, it is my favorite program but don't agree with everything on the show. I keep those thought to myself or discuss them with my friends.

People, I think you are making to big a deal out of this. A new visitor has left comment on the site. If they aren't a troll, the attacks will surely push them to become one! This site has always had a welcoming sense about it, but these comments are getting out of hand. I don't want to see this site turn ugly!

As my grandma always said...

If you don't agree, let it be!

A Real Housewife said...

Canadian Made,
That is fine if you feel that way about the response. But my main question was, why would you call our responses nonsense answers. You asked our opinion and we told you. I don't see how that is nonsense.

BizziMom, I was not attacking Canadian Made and I do not think anyone was. She asked what we see in the show (ie Kate), that she does no see. We all just expressed our opinion to her. She asked, we told.
