Sentimental Value, Finally a Book Tour? The State of PA Stir J&K Controversy, 10 minutes w/ Kate Gosselin

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is playing on TV, and its that time of the year where you start to brace for the Holidays. While kissing the baby in the crib and giving my other some cold medicine, I'm happy that its mommy time. I also start to get excited about escaping my hum-drum life by enjoying some good reality TV. I missed Dancing With The Stars this season, and only watching the finale tonight. Was it me or it just wasn't as good this season??

Now that's one of the reasons I enjoyed all the "Trips" the Gosselin family has gone on recently. With the economy being so horrible it was NICE to pretend for just a sec that I was sitting there on the beaches of Hawaii with the kids. I reminisced about when we went to Hershey and Dutch Wonderland over the summer. Its FUN for me. Not so fun for others. I don't know if its jealousy or if they really just enjoy shows about the family doing nothing in the house. To each is own. But please don't let it be because you don't feel they're "entitled" or they "take and don't give back". Its dammed if you do and dammed if you don't. Last night WAS about giving back, and all anyone could take about was a cranky Kate.

I read a few of the comments yesterday. Regarding Kate tossing ornaments given to Mady by Poppy: Sentimental Value depends on the person. My husband was like Jon and kept practically everything his father left before he passed. Sometimes I just want to toss it all. I may be insensitive like Kate since my parents are living but you need to know what to hold onto and what to toss. Kate did let Mady keep the ballet ornament even though it was "dustily" (love that word!). I would have done the same. But not everyone feels the same way about items once a loved one dies, I guess its to each is own. You know what I mean...;) (For Duckie)

Kate FINALLY on a book Tour?

This was sent to me by someone on Cafe Mom. Please e-mail me if you know anything about this. I would love to go, but I think I live too far.. (lol) "Gosselin will appear at 4 p.m. on December 12 at Schuler Books and Music at the Eastwood Towne Center, MI. “Blessings”; to participate, a copy must be purchased from a Schuler location and a receipt must be presented on the day of the event. For more information, visit http://www.schulerbooks.com/ or call 316-7801."

The Philadelphia Examiner Writes More Trash For The Masses

While this is not the worst artlice I have read (I save that honor for the NE) I was amazed that once again someone from PA writes a slanted article by someone that obviously reads GWOP. You can read it HERE. Just more pointless garbage to fill up a page with nothing new to add other than blogs are a writing for Jon & Kate. They say that Jon & Kate are stirring contorversy? Looks like they are trying to cover up what they themselves are doing...

Religion News.com 10 minutes w/ Kate Gosselin:

A happier spiritual article. Read it HERE. Thanks Indianprincess!

Please don't take this in the wrong way but you seem a little obsessed with that other board. I am not a poster there - I have read it but mostly because you bring it up so much!
It's great that you are such a supportive fan but everyone has a right to their feelings.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I think the other blog seems a little obsessed with tearing the gosslins into pieces. but that's just my opinion. I have not made any blogs or boards. I am just a big fan of the show .:)

Loved the Religious News interview! I really enjoyed reading Kate's answers on how they talk to the kids about God etc. Didn't bother reading the other article but thanks for putting them both up!!

If I could squeeze in a trip to Lansing, MI before the holidays I totally would! I have family there and would love to go to the book signing. However, there is much to do and I will just have to wait and see if Kate does any other book signings closer to home.

Does anyone know how the book signings work? Does a store pay Kate to come to it, did her PR contact the store? Just curious, I think how the whole "business" side of having your own TV show and book must be fascinating!!

Thanks for another great post!!

On the Zondervan site it says that they will be publishing another book by Kate called "Eight Little Faces, A Mom's Journey. I am excited to read it. I am still waiting on my library to call me and tell me that Multiple Blessings is in so I can read that.I am a fan of Kate, not b/c I think she is super mom but b/c she is real and genuine. I admire the thick skin I imagine she has aquired by now and the courage she has by continuing in the face of all the criticism. By the way does anyone know how I can e-mail the person who started this blog personally?

Wow, I didn't know they have another book coming out. Good for Kate. I am not a big fan of Kate's but she is growing on me. I think back to a time when my kids were young, I was working two jobs and I was in post graduate school. I had my moments.

The stress of having 8 children, 6 of the them the same age and babies had to be unbelievable. As the children become older, we see Kate becoming more relaxed and able to enjoy life.

Bee, I am not an expert, but I don't believe the bookstore pays Kate anything. They profit by the sale of the book which many people buy when they get there. She of course profits by the sale of the book. Usually the publisher pays for the author's traveling expenses as part of the book tour.

Baby Mama, I completely understand your so called "obsession." LOL

I can't wait for the 2nd book. I read Multiple Blessings. It was really good. Most of the information we already knew or have seen small parts on the show. However the book gave a much deeper perspective and religious view of what they were thinking and going through. I will be reading the next one. By the way, Multiple Blessings can be purchased at SAM'S Club for $10.00.
Well worth it.

I think that the next book is more of a "gift book". You know, those cute little books that have photos and quotes. I could be wrong but that is the way I took what the Zondervan site said. I will be buying it though....and I would LOVE Kate to do a cooking book and an organizational book!! A sequel to Multiple Blessings would be be great too...come on Kate you have a lot of writting to do!! :)

Denise, if you followed those other boards you would understand why Baby Mama mentions them so much; it's not obsession, it's self defense. If you are not a critic of the Gosselins you are an abetter of child abusers. They search us fans out high and low and far and wide to harass us with venomous accusations; it's like a mission for them (not sure how they have that much time on their hands as they claim to have kids). I actually had to leave cafemom after 1 week due to the endless haranguing. If I may say so myself, I'm a pretty good debater but they don't debate, they pound you down like an old style bible thumping wrathful minister. Think of the treatment Oliver got when he asked for "some more" and multiply it by 100. If you want to try a fun experiment, go to one of those boards and post something positive about the Gosselins.
