That these magazines have gotten so desperate that they would pull a stunt like that is insane. Wendy~ You knew exactly what I was talking about. It was already being filmed for the show, but did that mean that 6 paparazzi had to be there harassing them and snapping photos also? That's what I meant.
Hmm, so please don't take this as me ragging on the family, because I love those kids and they are great. The parents however, completely different story.
However, I was thinking, and do you think the show will/should have a different intro now/promotion? It started out as an opportunity for us to get a glimpse into the family's life, and for us to be able to see what life is like with 8 kids, etc. However, they've obviously outgrown the "regular family" category and they have now become a celebrity family. I mean, how often do regular families get to meet "Name of baking company shown in the new season trailer", meet Emeril and cook with him, etc.
While I admit I might be wrong in my interpretation of some things, this is where I understand the viewpoint of the "anti" crowd who argues they should just be open and truthful about things. I guess I can't expect them to come out and say, "hey, look at us, we're celebs!!" But other shows on tv that revolve around families don't go around claiming they're regular (ie, that Hulk Hogan show, Ozzy Osbourne's, any other family).
And looking at those pics in the justjared post about Kate's trip to Party City(?) with the kids and bodyguard Steve(?) makes me sad for the kids. If those pics were not from the crew, but rather paparazzi, then that's really sad for hte kids. I get that they're open up easily to people, but its got to be scary for them to see people taking pictures of them everywhere they go, right?

I'll assume Mady's look is from the wind blowing and messing up her hair. And perhaps Leah was just upset that day. However, it could just as easily be the other way around and be a reflection of them being a bit scared, no?
I read in another post on here that cancelling the show owuld be bad b/c of the economy, etc. I get the point, but the family would not go broke if they cancelled the show. I'm sure that with royalties from their books, plus other products they've been coming out with, along with promotions they have, they'd be fine for a while. I'd actually be interested in finding out how much the show contributes to their income. Obviously all of the free stuff they get is from promotion deals, since products appear on tv, so that's something to consider too. But it just seems like they do have options for the future, even without a show. New books would probably sell, since they would be a way for true fans to stay up to date with the kids and family, plus they could do the occasional update show, much like Octomom is doing for her family, i believe.

I finally watched the Kevin and Jody skits. Whats up with them? Doesn't it sound to anyone else like its scripted? There's something very odd about their cadence (especially Kevin) and choice of words.
And I personally like Kates interview with People. Reality right? Lots of married couples get divorced. IF its in the cards for them, hopefully they will face this with the same amount of wanting to show the truth as they have all along.
And sometimes divorce it better than staying together. How interesting would that be to watch? To see Kate become a happy person again and Jon find someone who helps him be better instead of degrading him all the time. Show the kids enjoying their happy parents and having fun.
Even with the divorce rate we have in this country, we still hold a measure of embarrassment with it. Of course its best for a family to stay together if its at all possible for everyone to find a way to be happy. When all else fails and a divorce is handled correctly as adults - it can be the best thing for a family. It was for mine. My now adult kids even agree.
So, maybe its time for a real reality show. We're not all perfect. Actually none of us are perfect. We shouldn't expect it from Jon and Kate. But maybe we'll be able to watch how they TRULY handle this situation.

I know Kate has a special attitude to her, but it has always annoyed me just a bit whenever one of the kids has a meltdown and she can't handle it. I mean, I get that handling that many kids can be tough, but it just doesn't rub the right way w/me seeing that from her, lol. Maybe it's just me.
I wonder if it'll ever click in J&K's heads that they are no longer a regular family, and perhaps a discontinuation of the show would be the best course of action, primarily with regard to their family's safety. I mean, paps are following them everywhere they go now, so I would assume that's why the bodyguard is around even for everyday tasks. So perhaps this has jumped to a level beyond what they signed up for?
I'm quite interested in the new season though, especially to see how they reference all of this and whether they talk about their future and how much longer the show will go on

Gosselinreporter~ I have always been respectful of the time you take for your posts and that's the reason why I publish them. You have tried to make your statement without attacking. But coming from this mother who has a child the exact same age of the twins......
Anyone who has school age children deal with meltdowns on a daily basis. Kate handles them wonderfully. Seriously, I have days when I feel like I'm going to lose it. I would never be able to handle reading blogs or hearing other bitchy moms & grandmas tell me how bad I handled a situation. Like they know better how to handle my child. Like they can raise her better. It makes my blood boil and was one of the main reasons I started this blog.
I make those exact same faces of exhaustion and frustration Kate does everyday. And any mother who says they don't or haven't either is a liar. Just because they get a shot of an exasperated Kate, how is it that she's "not able" to handle Cara? Shes being stared at by 20 mothers and a camera. How she plays it off is how every mother I know would. And again to the snarkers who foam at the mouth and read my blog hourly YOU ALL can make a face all you want. Because these women are the ones who's lives are filled with the most chaos. Either they don't even have kids, or who's children are already grown. These are the people that feel they know whats best for these kids when they know darn well they have no business criticizing.
Of course they already know they are no longer a regular family. They have said that several times already on the show. What they need to do is learn how to live in the public eye when fame is thrust upon you. They will need security around at all times now. Reporters are wearing camo and actually hiding in trees for these shots. And after seeing your comments about the photos on Just Jared, remember that a photo is a split second. Judging how Mady feels upset or is because wind is in her face is pointless. Assume what you want, but these are kids at a party.
To make this season and their marriage work they need to come together and work on their marriage and love and protect their kids. A happy ending to this mess is what I pray for to show the haters that they can be down, but not out. We will see......
Very good point on Kate's expression, and I actually agree and understand. I guess I just have it in me that Kate is a bit over-dramatic at times, and I dunno, I guess I felt more bad for the kids than her, lol. But you're right, and I completely understand.

Since the first episode seems to be about Kate’s birthday; I was curious about two things: was the entire family included when they were in Baltimore to ‘make’ her cake and whose idea was it? I just can’t fathom Jon or Kate contacting Chef Duff for the purpose of celebrating a birthday because of the distance, time and cakes have to be booked well in advance. I saw their booking schedule online a couple times in the past and the next available slot was a year away. I’m sure money was no object for them so I would wage that was TLC’s idea for the sake of making an episode out of it. I live near Baltimore so that is a long way from home and they have had to make that either an overnight or weekend trip. Also this is the first time I can remember that they filmed Kate celebrating her birthday. I wonder if it was filmed before or after her actual birthday; just like they didn’t celebrate the sextuplets’ birthdays on the actual day. Weird.
I really think that Kate and Jon can work through this and their marriage will survive. I really think they just need to take a few steps back and remember what they did have at one time. They have 8 amazing children and they do truly love one another.
I hope that this will be the last season for them... as much as I will miss watching them I think it would be for the best.

Oh my goodness. I saw the party pictures the PP gave a link for. So I am assuming that the people gathered a few feet away from the party are onlookers? That must be so weird, if I were one of the Gosselins I'd feel like an animal attraction at the zoo! Sheesh, papperazi in Camo this is getting out of control, I agree 100% with Babymama they have to have that bodyguard around them 24/7. I don't think Jon or Kate expected their fame to reach such a level, with paparazzi in Pennsylvania!
On another totally different note, I had got busy and I didn't get to post this thought until Babymama had brought up the Brooke Shields article. I watched the tv documentary "Farrahs Story" and it just tore at my heartstrings. The utter dignity shattering lengths these papers will go to (once again) The National Enquirer to be specific. It was just cruel, I am glad she was able restore her rights from that particular magazine's reporting techniques. In these days it won't even take a Royal Princess's death to create proper control of this media outlet.
Anyway I agree with a lot of y'all on many of the things brought up but when you are looking at these types of photos in my opinion your validating the whole reason why there are paparazzi. I don't mean to offend anyone here at all, I'm just going to wait for the new season and new episode's those pics are like spoilers to me LOL.

Is it just me or did those photos make anyone else incredibly sad? There is no way I'd handled someone running up and photographing my kid everywhere she went. How miserable for the kids! Why can't the papparrazi just leave them alone? Jon and Kate are the scandal, why drag the kids into it?? The photos of the party - strangers standing around staring at your kids during their birthday party?!!! Get lost - don't you have anything better to do? Why didn't Kate set up a private party? It's almost like she wants all those strangers there. TLC is one thing. Sorry it just makes me mad that the kids can't even enjoy their party without people tracking their every move! Very sad!

In the b-day photos are the people like behind the camara crew just reagular people, it looks like just random people decide to watch their birthday party. These pictures make me very excited for the episode I can't wait!
I think those kids feel like they are in a zoo all the time. How many of those people are crew members? There was no reason to be in a public park to have that party unless ma and pa gosselin wanted it there. They want everything to be a spectacle. Isn't this what the kids are subjected to all the time?

This is my first time posting but I just have a comment reguarding the birthday pics....When I looked at them, I just assumed all those people standing around watching were parents of the other kids at the party. I know with my daughter, whom is four, I stay at the birthday parties instead of just dropping her off. Just a thought....
I thought the same thing as KYMAMA. Most of the people standing around watching the kids were either camera crew, bodyguards or the moms of the children attending. I highly doubt that random people would be allowed to watch the Gosselins that close.

KYMama~Yes, I'm assuming that most of the women at that party are the mom's of those children. You right when you say that of course they are going to stay regardless for a Jon & Kate party like that. Even at my baby's Moon Bounce party they made us sign waivers that were attached on the invites for legal purposes. I could only imagine how funny THAT invite must have been!
BEE~ Not even a minute after ThePageinator sent me those e-mails saying how sorry she was, I get another e-mail from someone else saying shes already talking about me on another blog. So basically why I did I feel it was a sincere apology? I know that every snarker out there knows when a comment they make goes too far. It's sad that hiding behind some fake name, they don't even care.
I saw The Night At The Museum promo as well. I was going by the TV Guide schedule. They may change it at the last minute who knows. Either way we know that at least these two episodes are already in the can.

Mary Mac, I do have to agree with you. Kevin and Aunt Jodi sounded very scripted. But also what I knoticed is whenever Jodi talked she never looked into the camera into the end it was off to the right or directly at Kevin. Usually if you talk to someone, esp. the world, wouldnt you look at them directly in the face?
Baby Mamma I went on Rick Garner's blog and read up on the 1st blog he wrote about J&K. He has a 15 minute video on there, its Jon talking to a lady in Utah with his drip with Cara. You should find that video and post it, I think it is by far the best interview I have seen of Jon. I wish Jon would rewatch that video and remember that talk with the lady, maybe that would help on thier marriage issues they are having right now. On the "E" channel last night they reported that Jon and Kate are in the middle of a movie deal. They said that it did not look like they were splitting to them. YEAH!!

I was just thinking about how Jon said he did not cheat on Kate. If what Jodie says is true then technically he did not cheat on Kate because she gave him permission and they are not "together". I hope for their sake and especially the chilren's sake that this is not true.
I just can't see Jodi lying because she could be sued. I wish Jon and Kate would address all this. They need to get it all out in the open. OMG, I was watching E! news and they actually went to the Gosselins old neighborhood and asked people questions about the Gosselins, it was interesting because everyone had mixed reactions to the Gosselins, now they could be just saying these thins because the camaras are there.
